THE DESIGNER

A RIGOROUS, METHODICAL
APPROACH TO EVERY SAIL.

Bouton vague CHED Saildesign

Since 1993, I have designed sails across the full spectrum — from competitive one-design fleets to complex traditional rigs where forestay loads and configuration demand a careful hand.

Today I combine that design work with coordinating Challenge Sailcloth across Europe, giving the sailmakers I work with direct access to the right materials for each project.

YOUR OUTSOURCED
DESIGN DEPARTMENT

01

A DATABASE OF
DESIGNS

Tap into ~5,000 proven shapes, adapted to your boat instead of started from scratch.

02

AN EXPERIENCED
SAILMAKER

A real technician-to-technician dialogue, from someone who has built and sailed them.

03

OUTSOURCE,
STAY FOCUSED

Keep what you do best in-house and delegate the rest — racing or cruising, your call.

04

KEEP YOUR
LEAD TIME

Designs within 96h and a cloth-consumption report before you cut, via SailNest.

THE DESIGN

EVERY SAIL BEGINS AS A CURVE

Before a panel is cut, the sail exists as precise design curves — camber, draft and twist, station by station. Real parameters from a current project.
